Fast weight loss is not all its cracked up to be

We've seen this consistently where people keep dieting and dropping weight only to put on more weight following the next diet. Diets are temporary and the results are too. How do you break the cycle? You need to work with a Registered Dietitian to find a menu plan that you enjoy, eat the right foods at the right time in the correct portion sizes-that's it-sounds simple, well its not.

A study in the journal Obesity Aug. 28 found poor results when your weight fluctuates continuously up and down. Your goal should be to lose one to two pounds a week. This will make sure its fat your losing and not weight loss from water weight or loss of lean body mass. People who have huge weight loss and swings are less likely to maintain a healthy weight over time. Not to mention how your metabolism can get ruined every time you diet.

The key take away is that being consistent and realistic in your weight loss efforts will pay off in the long run.
